Round Needlepoint Ornament Finishing

Service Description

Join Melanie Branham to learn the tips and tricks to professionally finishing your own round ornaments! This is a beginner class (or a great refresher), but you DO need to know how to hand sew a very basic sewing stitch. We will go through the entire process of learning to cut our canvas properly, how to adhere and sew ornaments so that they stay together nicely, how to make fabulous cording to match and how to finish them off beautifully. Please Bring: * Completely stitched 4 inch or less completely round ornament * Backing fabric of your choice (keep it to a fabric on the thinner side, such as cotton or satin or something similar. Stay away from bulky, think fabrics for this first finish) * Two colors of coordinating DMC embroidery floss (available at Knot and Needle). These are not the DMC perle cotton that we stitch with.) * strong scissors to cut both fabric, canvas and thin foam board Materials Included: Foam boards, batting, straight pins, Aileene’s tacky glue, needle and thread, use of various tools, written supply list and instructions Instructor: Melanie Branham Melanie is from upstate South Carolina and been teaching finishing classes for 3 years.
