Sewing Class: Children’s Scout Pants

Join us for a fun and practical 2-day sewing workshop where you’ll create a pair of children’s pants using the Scout Pants pattern by Twig + Tale. Designed for sizes 12–18 months up to size 10, these pants are a versatile staple for any child’s wardrobe -- relaxed-fit, pull-on shorts/pants, with plenty of wearing ease for children’s bodies to move, squat, and explore, in four different lengths to suit the seasons and their style of play: short, above knee, below knee and full length. This class is perfect for confident beginners who already know the basics of using a sewing machine and are ready to build their skills. Over two sessions, you’ll learn how to: --Read and cut a multi-size sewing pattern --Work with fabric grain and cutting layouts --Sew seams with professional finishes --Insert an elastic waistband --Add optional features like pockets and cuffs On Day 1 (Tuesday), we’ll prepare by cutting our fabric and pattern pieces. Day 2 (Thursday) will focus on construction, finishing techniques, and adding personal touches. You’ll leave class with a completed pair of custom pants and the knowledge to make them again and again in any size. Please bring your washed and dried fabric (yardage requirements will be provided upon registration).
